My hobby

Hi there!
Today I will talk about my hobby. Since I was a child I love to collect Germans model trains. Why trains? Because I love trains! And why Germans?  Because my parents gave me a German scale train at my 9th birthday and became crazy with the details and colours.

As I said, I got my first train at the age of nine, and then started collecting more and more trains. I enjoyed going to the model train shop in the city-centre and buy a wagon, houses, little people, and everything to build a model train layout. The train was not a simple toy, it becomes to be a new world to discover and enjoy.

The collection started to be bigger and bigger. At today, 14 years later, I have 32 locomotives and almost 150 passenger and freight cars in a 1:87 scale, also called H0. Also, I built a layout in a room of my house where to make my trains run. I still building a big train station whit 5 platforms and an Engine Shed, trying to represent a train station in a big town. Then the train runs into a tunnel across a mountain made of cast and paper and finally arrives into a little countryside station with two platforms only for short trains. Also I have a little factory with a railway line where I can let some freight cars waiting to be filled with goods, and then to be coupled in the rear of a freight train.


Maybe, someone can think that collecting and playing with trains is for kids, but no! It’s a very complex world with requires a lot of concentration, time, money and learning about engineering, electronics, history, architecture and other disciplines.
That’s my hobby and I enjoy it!

    Hi Cristóbal, your hobby its so cool, but I have some question, I wonder if its hard to collect something?, where do you get all the trains? Are these trains expensive? Do you collect only Germans trains? I have some many question to do, but maybe the next time we see each other I could ask everything, see you

    OMG, your hobby it's so great. I remeber when I was young (more than now hahaha), I used to think that this type of collection were only in movies, and I believed that were amazing, I love models scales of things, I do not know, it's just I like hahahhaha, I find it so cute hahahaha, such all is small,
    Anyways, having a collection like this seems so expensive, both for trains and maintenance...Besides is the fact that you only collect german trains, so I dont imagine what spend with this hobby. Although I really like your collection, my poverty don't afford something like this hahahhaha.
    I dont think that type of things are for kids, cause the maintenance this need it is excesive, and a kid dont worry about this type things, they just play. Unless it's like you, in this case the story will be different, but I think I'm diverting

    Hi Cristóbal! after read your post I think that you have a very interesting hobbie! it isn't a tipical hobbie that's why I really like your post.. I think that was really difficult to collect 32 locomotives and almost 150 passenger!! but I wonder if collections like this are very expensive?, you're so lucky!

Working in the House of Cards

When someone says you have a free topic to talk about in a blog post, It's so hard to me to define what  I could choose to talk about. Hello Today I want to talk about a special topic related to my career of Public Administration. I’ll talk about the problem of drought and water laws in the country. Is been asked to explain some changes that must be necessary to apply and find a solution of the problem of water. Let’s start by the history. Water as a fluid has been always considered as a resource, which could be exploited as the same way as cooper or steal. That means, a private could ask for the government to buy the right of use a certain amount of water and be able to take from rivers o water wells.
