We’re thirsty

Today I want to talk about a special topic related to my career of Public Administration. I’ll talk about the problem of drought and water laws in the country.

Is been asked to explain some changes that must be necessary to apply and find a solution of the problem of water.

Let’s start by the history. Water as a fluid has been always considered as a resource, which could be exploited as the same way as cooper or steal. That means, a private could ask for the government to buy the right of use a certain amount of water and be able to take from rivers o water wells. In that way, the laws and regulations are only made to regulate how a person or an industry can use the water. By other side, in the cities there are only laws according the use of drinking water and what to do with the dirty water (specially trying to “clean” and return the water into the river to be used in the fields).

So, what to do if we have problems with the water? Today the government only could afford the problem as a “missing resource”, and just sending tracks with water to the affected communities. But, we all know that’s not a solution. Is needed to declare that the access of water is a human right and no one should appropriate the fluid by their own benefit affecting the normal access to the rest of the population. For that, first we must change our current law of water, specifically the decree number 1122, where the water is defined as something that could be exploited only paying for that, and with no consequences in case of damage in the environment. Water must be declared as a necessity for living, and be carefully used and preserved.

The last thing, need to be noticed that we have the problem of the global warming and we have to accept that maybe there will be no water in some places anymore, and  that is a serious problem and we have to learn to live with that.

We need a change. We must change. Our way of live depend of that

    Hi Cristóbal!!
    This topic is so important in our country but at the same time is really neccesary to all countries, because the watter is a essential resource to live!
    Here, we need a change in our policie about the problem of access to this resource, many people in rural zones or in the north of our country are affected, without an effective solution!

    Hello Cristobal!
    I agree with you when you read that access to water resources is a human rights because I think that every human in the world should have an access to water, throught the rivers, water basins, oceans, lakes, even the rain! The water is the most necessary element to life after the oxygen. You post is so interesting!

    Hi Cristobal, I like these theme because here in Chile we have a lot of draughts , maybe here on Santiago, we don’t see that , but in another regions you can see this, especially in regions that base their economy on agriculture, like my regions the sixth region, in there they have a lot of agriculture specially grapes and blueberries

Working in the House of Cards

When someone says you have a free topic to talk about in a blog post, It's so hard to me to define what  I could choose to talk about. While I'm writing this  I started to thought on the people I’ll be working with in the future When we read the news, the idea of a future seems to be, for one side, very espectacular with a lot of new technologies and the opportunity of enjoy the development of mankind, but thirty seconds later I realized this world is going into a black hole without solution thanks to the ambition of power.
