Hello
If someone asks me which could be my dreamed
job I would say I would love to be a railwayman. It’s maybe one of the most
wonderful jobs ever. Think About that. You’re travelling across the country
with a 2500 tons train on yours hands controlling the speed and the brakes in
the locomotive, joining the cities along the railway, visiting always new
places and seeing the world from a different view.
If you
have travelled on trains maybe you noticed that seeing the landscape from the
windows is something special. Passing throw different places and maybe keeping
an eye in a house, a sign, or even another person who was there just for a second
while the train keep running to bringing all the passengers into their destinations.
The job of the railwayman is keep sure that the train is running safe and on
time, and you can be on the locomotive, in the passenger car asking for the
tickets, or in a signal box working with traffic lights and switches or even as
a stationmaster in a big train terminal keeping sure everything is going under
control.
The salary is maybe not so big, actually I have
no idea, but I do know you can live with that. The “problem” with this kind of
job is that it has very long journeys, even full days of works if you are
assigned into long-distance travels. The railwayman doesn’t see his/her family
quite often, it’s a hard job to be under the heavy weather with rain, storms,
or a shining sun on your head in the summer. Working at day and at night and
keeping on stress along the tracks when everybody else is sleeping warm at
their houses.
Despite all, the railwayman I had known along
mi short life have always said to me: it’s the best job ever, it’s not a simple
job, and you have to love it. The fact is, I dreamed to be a railway man but in
Chile there is almost no trains, and I decided to study a career so I left the
dream behind.
Jaja this is too obvious, I read your last post about your hobby, that is collect trains, so immediately was sure that your dream job it was to work on something related to trains, a railway man sounds like a lot of fun to me, I love trains too, when I travel to visit my mon on Chillan, sometimes I use trains, it’s such a nice travel
ResponderEliminarOh, your dream job is too relate with you hobby. Personally, I've never thought about this type of job, and when you describe how is it, I don't know, but your post made me want to become a railwaywoman hahaha.
ResponderEliminarAlthough is very interesting travel and meet other places, this job seems too exhausting. In sense of, eg working at day and at night or, such as you say, the hot when is summer, must be infernal :/
Anyways, I see you in the next post :)
