My dream job

Hello

If someone asks me which could be my dreamed job I would say I would love to be a railwayman. It’s maybe one of the most wonderful jobs ever. Think About that. You’re travelling across the country with a 2500 tons train on yours hands controlling the speed and the brakes in the locomotive, joining the cities along the railway, visiting always new places and seeing the world from a different view.

If you have travelled on trains maybe you noticed that seeing the landscape from the windows is something special. Passing throw different places and maybe keeping an eye in a house, a sign, or even another person who was there just for a second while the train keep running to bringing all the passengers into their destinations. The job of the railwayman is keep sure that the train is running safe and on time, and you can be on the locomotive, in the passenger car asking for the tickets, or in a signal box working with traffic lights and switches or even as a stationmaster in a big train terminal keeping sure everything is going under control.

The salary is maybe not so big, actually I have no idea, but I do know you can live with that. The “problem” with this kind of job is that it has very long journeys, even full days of works if you are assigned into long-distance travels. The railwayman doesn’t see his/her family quite often, it’s a hard job to be under the heavy weather with rain, storms, or a shining sun on your head in the summer. Working at day and at night and keeping on stress along the tracks when everybody else is sleeping warm at their houses.

Despite all, the railwayman I had known along mi short life have always said to me: it’s the best job ever, it’s not a simple job, and you have to love it. The fact is, I dreamed to be a railway man but in Chile there is almost no trains, and I decided to study a career so I left the dream behind.

  2. Oh, your dream job is too relate with you hobby. Personally, I've never thought about this type of job, and when you describe how is it, I don't know, but your post made me want to become a railwaywoman hahaha.
Although is very interesting travel and meet other places, this job seems too exhausting. In sense of, eg working at day and at night or, such as you say, the hot when is summer, must be infernal :/
Anyways, I see you in the next post :)

Talking about my Blogging Experience

Hello everyone! Today I have the opportunity of talk about the experience of writing blogs and how does it work on the learning process.  I have to say I’m not good writing personal things, not even in Spanish, because I use to be very worried about my private life. Anyway, I can (and I did) the sacrifice of trying to express the things I’ve been asked to write, as my hobby or appreciation of some specifics topics. At the time writing I started to notice some points: first: I have to admit that I know vocabulary in English but I didn’t know how to write correctly some words (thanks for the translator system that helps me to correct those words). Second. It’s not so simple to express what I’m thinking, so, be “ forced” to write help me to improve my abilities thinking and expressing in English. Third, I have to be open to make and correct mistakes and find new ways to write what I want to write. I believe should be very interesting to keep improving the experience to m...

Working in the House of Cards

When someone says you have a free topic to talk about in a blog post, It's so hard to me to define what  I could choose to talk about. While I'm writing this  I started to thought on the people I’ll be working with in the future When we read the news, the idea of a future seems to be, for one side, very espectacular with a lot of new technologies and the opportunity of enjoy the development of mankind, but thirty seconds later I realized this world is going into a black hole without solution thanks to the ambition of power. Let’s think about what the news show us every day: a political section with a lot of people with almost no sense discussions while the real problems of the people are covered with fake smiling y and “we will do it” proposes. At the same time some governments threat others with nuclear bombs and putting the world in the line of the death and total destruction.  This idea is very depressing, and the solution seems to be not the read news, but tha...

We’re thirsty

Hello Today I want to talk about a special topic related to my career of Public Administration. I’ll talk about the problem of drought and water laws in the country. Is been asked to explain some changes that must be necessary to apply and find a solution of the problem of water. Let’s start by the history. Water as a fluid has been always considered as a resource, which could be exploited as the same way as cooper or steal. That means, a private could ask for the government to buy the right of use a certain amount of water and be able to take from rivers o water wells. In that way, the laws and regulations are only made to regulate how a person or an industry can use the water. By other side, in the cities there are only laws according the use of drinking water and what to do with the dirty water (specially trying to “clean” and return the water into the river to be used in the fields). So, what to do if we have problems with the water? Today the government only coul...
